Organic Halloween Candy

Halloween is an event that I am always looking forward to. Finding an original costume is my favorite part- I like to get creative and I try my best to make them instead of buying them. Vintage and thrift stores, and ebay are always my go-to places.

Since I didn’t grow up in the US, I have never been trick-or-treating. For me Halloween is about dressing up and attending a Halloween party. But I know that for kids trick-or-treating is a must. I have seen the crazy  amounts of candy kids gather and eat every year.  I love Halloween, but as an advocate of green living, I have a real issues with all that candy.

The list of ingredients is far spookier than a haunted house. My main concern is the presence of GMO’s. But that is just not it, there are also artificial colors and flavors, food starch, MSG, and other ingredients. All of these toxic ingredients are found in the most popular candies/chocolates. Can you recognize your favorite one in the picture below?

I don’t want to be a party pooper; after all I do love Halloween and I want you and children everywhere to have fun. The idea here is to shift from toxic candies to healthier ones.
